Case Study
This process was invented in India centuries back. Its genesis could be traced to the Bronze Age when ancient artisans used this process to make statues of deities and even rudimentary armaments parts. The statue of Natraj doing Tandav Nrtiya, which adorn many houses in our country is one of the finest examples of this process.

The Industrial use of this process, however was propagated by the Germans during the Second World War. The process then caught designers’ and manufacturers’ attention thereafter and spread itself all over the world.

In India, the process made its reincarnation in the late Seventies. In the ensuing three decades, it has leapfrogged to become one of the major industries with some units today servicing the needs of Indian and Overseas market.
